You will always be welcome to visit Tatworth Growing Together.
For children there are always dragonflies, beetles, moths and butterflies to catch with a proper net, grasshoppers, crickets, caterpillars to look at and then let go. Frogs, froglets, toads and sloworms are everywhere. Woodpeckers and ravens are in the sky and there is an abundance of wild flowers.
There's also a swing - a bit rudimentary at the moment though ! Adults will find the Project a delightful, peaceful place with plenty to interest them and their children. Let Andrew know by phone if you want a Guide.
The local campsite - “Alpine Grove Woodland Park” - is just down the road at Forton. It's an absolutely beautiful place to stay. I met the very friendly proprietor Richard Gurd the other day, to ask if I could put a copy of the map they have on their Brochure on the website. That was no problem and within minutes he'd e-mailed the brochure to me. Many thanks to Richard!
First have a look at the Campsite's Brochure though
and [Click] the [Back] button when you have seen the 4th page to get back to this page.
The fourth page has a perfect little map, and Richard has given me the original of that too, so you can see the main roads more clearly. I've put an arrow on it to indicate where Tatworth Growing Together is.
Finally there is a sketched large scale map so you can see the main road - the A358 from Axminster or from Chard - with arrows pencilled in to show which roads to use. The top of the map is North, the bottom is South.
[Click] the Sketchmap to see the full size map. Make the view smaller by [Clicking] the blue - minus or + plus buttons and when you've finished [Click] the [Back] button to return to ‘Tatworth Growing Together’.
NOTE that all visitors have to accept the obligatory photographs for the website so that their children can say that they have visited a unique Somerset futuristic Project !!!
If you turn left (if from Chard) or right (from Axminster) at the Church, and then immediately right (left of the tree in the middle of the square) you'll see the name plate ‘Parrocks Farm, Wytch Square, Tatworth’ - that is School Lane. There are speed humps - carry on over four humps then .....
..... 10 yards further there is a short gravel track next to the Belle View Terrace name plate on the fence. Park up where you find space and wander in ! If you have SatNav it's TA20 2RZ.
If there's noone about, feel free to wander - but please supervise the kids closely. Kids will always find the stinging nettles and fall into the pond while looking at a toad!!
